General FAQ

At present, there are no face to face consultations.  As I work from home, I am unable to welcome you to the studio until Government guidelines change.

If you have a Gift Voucher issued by me, please don’t worry about the validity date for now.  I’ll contact you as soon as I’m able to commence seeing clients in person.

Absolutely! There’s a lot of information to take in so it’s sometimes nice to have another pair of eyes and ears.  Just let me know in advance.

Free collection is available from Dean Park Street, Edinburgh, EH4 1JS. Please contact me to arrange a collection time/date.

I endeavour to dispatch your order within 48hrs and post your order to you using Royal Mail within the UK. I reserve the right to send parcels Recorded Delivery in the UK. In some instances please allow up to 21 days for delivery.

If I cannot fulfil any order within this time period I will contact you. For items in stock, orders placed before 12 noon will generally be dispatched that day. Orders received after mid-day will be dispatched the following working day. Orders received after 12.00pm on Friday, Saturdays or Sundays will be dispatched the following Monday (with the exception of Bank Holidays where they will be dispatched the following Tuesday).

Prices charged include VAT at the current rate.

 

The following conditions apply to dispatch of orders:

-Payment is accepted and billing address verified.

-Delivery method and address is verified and confirmed.

-Delays may be caused by external influences over which we have no control.

 

Any offers are subject to availability and only one offer per order is permitted. Please check your order confirmation before making your payment. If there is any discrepancy once your order is placed please email me and I will endeavour to amend your order manually.

 

Postage and packaging options and costs are as follows:

Standard UK Delivery. Uses Royal Mail delivery – 2nd class. Please allow up to 3-5 working days for delivery. £3.95

First Class UK Delivery. Uses Royal Mail delivery. Please allow up to 1-2 working days for delivery £4.95

These are minimum charges. I may contact you should the parcel be larger or heavier than usual and require additional postage costs.

 

Despite my best efforts, there can sometimes be unforeseen delivery delays in which case I will always try to call you in advance. If your order hasn’t arrived 21 days after the estimated delivery date, please e-mail me or call and I’ll do my best to locate it.

A £20 per person/per session deposit is taken to secure your appointment.  Should you cancel/rearrange the booking within 72 hours of the appointment, it is non-refundable.

Personal Information

Personal details such as name, telephone number, address, email address, occupation, birth date, etc is only held when it is provided by an individual via an email link, email enquiry form, client information form, newsletter sign up or product purchase form, etc. Images and forms, etc are held in emails hosted my Microsoft and stored on Dropbox.

My subscriber mailing list is run by Mailchimp and you can unsubscribe at anytime by clicking on the unsubscribe link on each email or by contacting Lindsay Kirkwood at info@lindsaykirkwood.com.

Personal information is never passed on to any third parties and is only used by Lindsay Kirkwood in connection with a specific enquiry, booking or to send information regarding a consultation, training event, product or service. Any product purchasing information will be deleted after a period of 7 years.

Colour Analysis FAQ

Taking your hair and eye colour as well as your skin tone into account, we find out which colours will best complement your colouring.

A Colour Analysis session takes approximately 2 hours for both women and men.

Wear whatever you are comfortable in. I’ll pop a white cape over what you have on during the Consulation.

Absolutely! I never leave the house without at least some mascara and a lipgloss.  The Consultation itself will be done without your make-up on.  I can provide Simple products to remove whatever you have on, but should you wish to bring your own products, feel free!

No problem at all. I’ll give you a guide to take away should you have a special occasion where you would like something to refer back to.

Just yourself, a smile and your make-up bag! If you’re celebrating, feel free to bring some fizz!

Style Consultation FAQ

Taking into account your personality, lifestyle, body shape and proportions, we work together to find out what will make you look and feel good.

Approx 2 hours. I review and reassess all my services regularly, so please keep and eye on the site for updates and if you have any questions you can always contact me.

I encourage clients to bring items from their wardrobes which they are finding ‘challenging’.

Gift Voucher FAQ

6 months – please see the end date on your voucher.

I’m afraid not, you are welcome to change the service/products for which they were initially intended and the recipient can be changed with written approval from the initial recipient.   NB Due to hygiene rules and restrictions, I am unable to exchange/refund cosmetic products unless they are faulty.

Absolutely not!  It’s entirely up to you if and what you buy.

As with most things in life, I’m afraid there are no guarantees!

No problem.  We will agree the parameters on an individual basis.

Whilst it helps tremendously for us to be armed with this information, it’s by no means a prerequisite.

Make-Up FAQ

CMB has a fantastic range of products which co-oridinate beautifully with the tonal colour analysis system we use.  Where an appropriate CMB product isn’t available, I tend to work with MAC and Illamasqua products.

In the highly unlikely situation that you find an adverse reaction to the product, of course I will reimburse the cost of the product on its return.  If this should happen, I would immediately feed this back to the manufacturer via our Head Office, so if you have any photos for me to include, that would be very much appreciated.

If you change your mind over a product, I’m afraid that due to hygiene reasons, I am unable to provide refunds or exchanges.

Full Image Makeover FAQ

No, I actually recommend that the Makeover is split into 2 sessions ie Colour Analysis and Make-up Lesson (approx 2.5 hours), then the Style Consultation (approx 2 hours). There’s such a lot of information to take in that clients like the chance to go home and familiarise themselves with the new palettes and techniques.

Memberships FAQ

The timetable of services would be agreed in principle at the start of the engagement. These can be reviewed on a regular basis to take account of conflicting requirements.  Any rescheduling within 48 hours of an appointment will be looked at on an individual basis, but hopefully, we’d be able to rearrange!

An initial setup payment would be agreed at the outset with monthly payments made thereafter.

Events FAQ

Pricing is assessed on an individual event basis.  As they can take a considerable amount of planning, etc there is generally a minimal cost involved.

Refunds can be provided if the cancellation is given in writing no less than 48 hours in advance.  You are welcome, however, to pass the ticket on to someone else, just let me know their contact details.
